Our Approach

Our services are designed around the identified needs of each person we serve. We bring together families, cultural and spiritual communities, and service providers to work collaboratively, nurturing personal growth and dignity within each youth's chosen environment.

  • We work with the community, youth, and service providers to develop comprehensive plans

    • Provide 24-hour supervision by qualified, caring staff

    • Offer consistent programming and access to supports based on individual needs (independent living preparation, budgeting, resource connections, etc.)

    • Provide reliable transportation to appointments and activities

    • Support youth in developing positive, healthy relationships

    • Create opportunities to maintain community connections and participate in cultural activities

    • Involve families, Elders and guardians in planning and support

    • Collaborate with schools, mental health programs, physicians, and other community partners

    • Maintain immediate communication with social workers regarding any significant events or safety concerns

    • Provide a caring, safe, and supportive environment that encourages growth in all areas of life

    • Deliver services that respect diversity in culture, age, gender, sexual orientation, spiritual beliefs, socioeconomic status, language, and race

    • Foster genuine inclusion and belonging for every individual

    • Implementing trauma-informed care practices to address underlying emotional pain

    • Embracing and celebrating diversity, belonging, equity, and inclusion

    • Developing communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and practical life skills

    • Providing opportunities to practice decision-making, self-care, and conflict resolution

    • Collaborating with Community Care Teams that include youth, families, cultural communities, social workers, teachers, counsellors, caregivers, and other resources
